My Journey + Approach

While I’ve spent the last six years building a career in landscaping, I feel it started much earlier. Growing up in Hampshire, I was lucky to be surrounded by nature. Those early experiences outdoors are what first sparked my interest in the natural world.

I began studying garden design while working and qualified in 2022. A lot of my inspiration has come from the people I’ve worked with, along with designers who take a similar natural approach. Working closely with experienced designers and contractors has shaped how I now think about projects. I focus on how things function and feel once they’re built. Scale, perspective, and how people move through a space are always at the front of my mind.

I try to work with what’s already there, whether it’s materials, planting, or just the overall feel of the space, and build on it in a way that suits the site and the people using it. I like using local, natural materials when it fits, and I try to make decisions that are thoughtful rather than wasteful. Planting is chosen to suit the space and support wildlife, with the aim of creating gardens that feel useful and connected to the space beyond.
